NFL Protest - Misconceptions and Misdirections: gagablog 151

I have to make some corrections to my previous gagablog due to misconceptions I had when I wrote it - I thought the boycott was to protest the NFL for criticizing the players / not hiring Kaepernek when in fact it was Trump Nazis boycotting the NFL for allowing the protest. My bad. Also I thought Trump had called the players “pieces of shit” when he in fact had called them “sons of bitches.” I now have the benefit of all the memes I’ve seen in the past two days that point out all the flaws in racist thinking regarding this issue so I will try to make this easy by incorporating them.

For instance I said Trump was the “real piece of shit” when I should have said he was the “real son of a bitch.” The way facebook shows one comment on a post before you click for comments, well, I posted about this and the one they showed was someone who said “it is well verified that Trump’s father and mother were in the KKK.”

It’s pretty well obvious to me and I think most people that Trump and his supporters are KKK - maybe “unofficially” in many cases but the same beliefs and thinking.

And that thinking, and cover for that thinking in other guises, is on full display during this NFL protest discussion so it’s the perfect time to address it, like a clear day for some pitch and catch.

Here are some of the issues a good meme can sort out for you, lately:

One objection to the protests is that they are disrespectful to “The Flag”: Trump Nazis object to disrespecting the Confederate Flag AND the US Flag while the Confederate Flag represents armed rebellion against America and taking a knee is peaceful protest against Anti-American (ideals) Police Brutality and Injustice.

So the thing Trump Nazis are REALLY holding sacred is the way that the Confederate Flag represents their right to be racist against black people and the way the American Flag represents their right to be racist against black people.

They aren’t standing up for the Flag as a symbol that stands for EVERYONE but only for their entitled, racist, Amerikkkan CLAN. They always talk about disrespect for the Military as if the flag was MORE theirs than anyone else’s, than EVERYONE’S. NOT OUR FAULT the government traumatized you into this condition against every warning and effort that pacifists and protesters tried to save you from it. You simply don’t want to blame the government for it’s ACTUAL evil - wars, racism, poverty, pollution, drugs, etc - so you try to blame someone else - you blame the hardest hit victims of it.

The GOOD things the Flag represents are Unity, Freedom, Equality, Justice - for EVERYONE and Free Speech and protest are the hallmarks of it. The BAD things the Flag stands for are War and Exclusion and Force and THOSE are the ideals these “Flag”-loving Nazis believe in.

And they are WRONG. It’s NOT their flag it’s Everyone’s Flag EXCEPT those who would deny Freedom to others - it’s open to all except those who exclude themselves by ideas of exclusion - IDEALLY  -this is why I see Oz as the Future Prophecy of the world INSPIRED by American IDEALS - because this is a Good Place for Heaven to break out - if we live UP to it!

Essentially the Nazis in America are objecting to us using the flag as a symbol for what it really can mean - Equality and Freedom - and taking it away from their meaning - Privilege and Force.

They want to force the players to stand for the National Anthem - Trump wants to threaten the owners so that they fire the players. A few memes have pointed out the law that this is illegal for Trump to do, to use his office to pressure someone to fire someone, and he can be impeached for it, fined for it, and sent to jail for 15 years. So this is an example of this mentality and anger making people so stupid they cause problems for themselves - not that anything will come of it, legally, but you never know, and it least the memes are getting around.

Protest IS Freedom of Speech and I spent hours in the car yesterday and I think for the first time in my life tuned in to listen to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and this was all they were talking about. Freedom of Speech is very important here and one hypocrisy of Trump Nazis is how they stood up for the freedom of speech of the Nazis in Charlottesville but against the NFL players - many scathing memes about this.

Or how there wasn’t a big outcry about Dylan Roof burning the American flag but is about players kneeling during the Anthem.

I failed to credit how many players and whole teams in the NFL  -and other sports and arenas - have  joined the protest. I can’t pretend to mention enough of them now but I saw a lot of pictures of Cowboy’s owner Jerry Jones kneeling with the players - and this in response to Trump being such a strong-arming asshole as well as a response to the player’s concerns, I hope - but we know he was both a big Trumper and also said something about how he WOULD fire players who did not respect the flag, or whatever, BEFORE Trump tried to force them too with his Bully Pulpit.

This is how FORCE backfires on you and FREEDOM wins.

Kaepernek lost his job over his protest but is emerging as the Hero of this version of it. There is a good meme of him with a surprised face “You all wanna take a knee NOW???” but you know he is happy about what is happening even if it took a while to really catch on.  This is the turning point, now, and it IS all turning around.

Meghan Linsey is a country singer who took a knee after singing the anthem and was talking about it on NPR today. She said she was surprised to be getting death threats which just shows how sheltered and privileged Whiteness is even amongst those of us who are trying to care - of course she is getting death threats! It’s terrible but these people are terrible- their beliefs are terrible and while much of the country is always aware of them becuase they are the victims of these beliefs it IS time for everyone to wake up to how bad the beliefs are  -they WILL have people threatening to kill people because they are all part of this Genocide, Nazi mentality.

Rico Lavelle, I see, is at least one other singer who took a knee after singing the anthem, but the protests are growing in every direction.

I have to say why I misunderstood the boycott of the NFL, thinking it was boycotting them for cracking DOWN on the protests - I was prejudiced because I think of Football as being very cozy with the Military, very pro-military - from the fighter jets to special commemorations to all of it, to the fact that they didn’t used to play the anthem at games and it developed around war time, I think. And the culture of the NFL and Military, sexism, etc, seem very similar to me.

So I was prejudiced and it made me wrong  -I should have watched the football games in Solidarity!

That is one thing that is so awesome about this: watching football becomes a Revolutionary Act while assholes who LOVE football but love racism more don’t get to enjoy it, or maybe have to reconsider their commitment to racism while watching it.

That is the “inconvenience” they don’t want.

There is a meme with Trump saying “It’s not about race - But these black people need to do what their owners tell them.”

The NFL has a long way to go to reveal and expunge it’s own internal racism, from the way the games are announced to all the language around players and all the backroom stuff that hints at.

But the NFL is NOW getting on the right side of history - The Future  -and will be much better for it. Our coach in Denver, Vance Joseph, was recently quoted saying he was taught to stand for the flag so he believes in that, personally, but also in the right to protest. He is black and that’s a pretty Denver answer, the mainstream culture here does not appreciate black culture in any noticeable way. Half the team took a knee so I posted on facebook how proud I am of half of them for doing that.

Someone asked why it is mostly black people in the NFL taking a knee and the pundit’s response was “well the NFL is 70% black” - but that doesn’t explain it, really, as well as “the players are almost as racist as the nation as a whole, except that they overcome some of it from knowing each other and teamwork.”

So there are white players who are racist - maybe without knowing it!!! - who won’t protest and there are white players who care, somehow or other, for their teammates, for justice, and will join the protest.

With all the talk about this people will realize they MUST “choose up sides” soon so I predict we will see EVERYONE (just about) protesting within a month -

In the 60’s Vietnam was the issue that galvanized all the other protest movements into One Massive Revolution. This is going to be it, this time - and we will end and avoid War as a “by-product”: by changing the government so much along our way.

It’s going to be a continuous and widespread enough protest to get everyone involved, either for it or against it. I ran across some people on facebook who consider this protest a “distraction” or a false choice but they are being just like the Trump Nazis who simply can’t address the actual issue.

They just can’t even think about it, can’t even look at the problem. They are using the flag as a blindfold.

And they admit they are incapable of thinking about it in their own words. I listened to some more Sean Hannity today and he had a guest on, a girl who also works for FOX News. She said she “couldn’t understand what the protest had to do with the flag” and that “the flag is for All Americans” and “they have to respect the military that makes it possible for them to play football”. And Sean Hannity said she was absolutely correct - he can’t figure out what it is about, either.

Maybe listen to the protestors? If you WANT to understand it? Because since they don’t want to understand it so instead they say it’s all made up, or don’t even talk about the actual issue of police brutality. I heard one of them, Hannity, I think, repeat over and over that “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” is a “myth” - as if that is the only incident of police brutality and if he can refute that story then it all just disappears.

If you want to understand it it is very simple: Some people in the military are black and suffer the hardships and horrors of war and military life and then return to a world of police brutality. That Sniper who shot those cops - angered over how many cops were killing black people and getting away with it  - he was a Vet. You were disrespecting VETS by killing him, etc - see how this works?

No one is “sacred” like they pretend the military is - no one is MORE sacred than anyone else. A job is a job and frankly murder is murder.

Another thing one of the Talk Radio assholes said was that the Left was trying to Destroy the NFL and was succeeding. I LOVE this idea, and not because I am Anti-NFL - because I am Pacifist, anti-military.

Like I said, I always thought of the NFL as “like the military” and connected “at the top” as well as culturally similar. If THIS is the “rift” between the Military - not Vets but the System - and The NFL (and Vets) then it’s GAME ON -

We’ve got a football game on our hands, now, folks.

The Football Players and Vets will WIN against the Military and Trump Nazis and “Military Families” - because Vets are PEOPLE and while SOME of them are traumatized into this “Never Question The Military” mindset, you only HEAR from THEM since they are Pro-Military - but most vets aren’t like that!

Most vets families aren’t like that!

You just don’t hear from them, you only hear from the asshole Pro-Military “Military Families”.

Because they are promoted - and the NFL promotes them more than anyone.

Is that “partnership” over? Are the NFL and Military going to Break Up?

If Trump TELLS the Military to Break Up with the NFL - would they do it?

Or would the MILITARY end up opposing Trump, too?

I think if the Football Game is between The NFL, The Vets, The People AND The Military, versus Trump, the Trump Nazis, and “Military Families” then WE win, easy - blowout.

But even if Trump doesn’t piss off the military so much that they come over to our side, we will STILL win.

The NFL may not actually schism with the Military but I LOVE that outcome -

I LOVE that watching Football and keeping their ratings up, increasing them, becomes an act of rebellion - talking about it, too, always supporting the protest.

It’s like We, the People, TOOK the NFL back from the Military-KKKomplex - and all we wanted was a few protestors but we got the whole thing.

The NFL may not be as “powerful” in terms of money or Killability as the Military.

“Is there anybody here who’d like to challenge King Barbarino?” Kotter just said “We shall do this the Democratic way, let’s see a show of hands”  - and they just dangled them all like Occupy Wall St voters. Washington beat Barbarino and is the new leader of the Sweathogs - this is all on TV as I write this, if you havent read the gagablog before I do that a lot, it’s media magic  -I should say We do it a lot, it’s techno fairies, Art fairies.

But the NFL is MORE powerful than the Military  - culturally, influentially, with people’s hearts and imaginations and aspirations  -and its a game, for fun, instead of killing people.

Vinnies quitting school, “Up all your noses with rubber hoses!” since he lost the election…

If it comes down to “NFL vs Military” the NFL will win  - I’m talking about survival as an entity in the future.

If the Military can turn into some kind of Disaster / Oppression rescue squad and we just deal with bad government diplomatically then it can stick around.

It’s just that the world is about to change - the Old World “Powerful” who still control the way we hear stuff are grasping at their fleeting power and revealing themselves more and more in their desperation.

Power, in the new world, is with The People - not “certain” people but All of Us.

I don’t really think it is about “NFL vs Military” but Im just saying I am personally happy about weakening that connection and feel like the same kind of revolution that is happening IN the NFL, thanks to this protest, as well as sparking more awareness and protest outside the NFL, well, that same kind of revolution can happen in the Military, too.

And Trump and the Trump Nazis just lay their beliefs out their, over and over, as the Targets, te goals or hurdles we need to overcome, to reach that revolution. They are making it easy for us if we proceed with Joy towards an Ideal world that’s waiting for us.

People claim it’s all a “distraction” from other issues and dealings by the government - but to people who are the victims of police murder and brutality the most high-profile stories about this ever is an important accomplishment - because the depth and extent of the injustice means that once this stuff really starts to be known everyone will demand change.

This is THE issue - Justice for ALL people not only “Justice” for a few - and as legitimate as all other protests are, this is the one where we are clearly opposed to / by Donald Trump and all the KKK Injustice he stands for so This is where we really start to take over and change this culture.

We need more awareness of Vets who are supporting the protest.

We need more cops to come out in support of it - hard for them if they are breaking some code but necessary.

We need everyone and WILL have everyone because this is essentially Justice  -and we have enough folks making memes, comments, and most importantly more brave acts of protest, Non-Violent but Turning this Country Around - THIS IS HOW WE DO IT.

There are plenty of other issues and we should always be focusing on ALL of them but this is a movement that already connects with so many essential issues -  if we can all do our part to help sort this out and get justice for oppressed people then we can shift the system enough that it will be that much easier to get justice on every front.

Kim Jong Un is highlighting the essential injustice of Nuclear weapons. Nature and Hurricanes are highlighting the essential injustice of the fossil fuel industry and global warming. It is up to us to help highlight the issues related to police brutality, institutional racism, and now military brainwashing in the mix - and once we fix those, in a few weeks, I hope, the rest will come easy.

Almost like a chain reaction.

A friend on facebook - Thanks Priscilla! - sent a video of Gaga performing Come To Momma and the speech she gave before it  - and it is this message, too, I had to edit in since I thought it went without saying, Unity  -I feel like I’m coming back to you, my Love, my Goddess!

Thank you!

3 more things about how this works: I want to repeat about Jerry Jones kneeling with locked arms with his team. He’s the owner of the Cowboys and had said he would fire players who didn’t stand and he is a supporter of Trump. Maybe Trump ordering him changed his mind - more likely, that could have been part of it but most likely he just became more aware of the player’s concern, of the actual issue of racism and police brutality and injustice, and is in solidarity with them over the issue, not just team solidarity.

I had to look it up to make sure the picture wasn’t fake, ha ha, and saw another story that a team owner had ordered the players to stand for the anthem and called them “patriotic super heros” as the reason why they had to.

Soon people will see that it is because players are the REAL kind of Patriotic Super Heros that they DO take a knee.

Mike Tomlin, coach of the Steelers, had his players stay in the locker room for the anthem as a team statement but one player went out and saluted. The right is making a big deal about him and how he was in the military and then I saw a story that they are upset that the coach got onto him for it, which I don’t know if it is true but the same people would be supportive of any other coach discipline action, on principle. And then I saw another story about an fire chief who made the news for calling Tomlin the N-word and disparaging him for this choice - which shows how these actions will end up teasing out racism everywhere.

Because that is what is behind the objection to the anthem protests, no matter whether they claim it or not, racism is always part of it. All the comparisons bear this out and make it obvious to everyone - it’s fine for neo-nazis and KKK to terrorize Charlottesville but not for NFL players to non-violently, non-threateningly take a knee?

And the third thing is how this whole story teases out “compassion” and criticism in other ways - since Trump tweeted 30 times (or more) about the NFL and only once about the hurricane destroying Puerto Rico he had to make up for it when the criticism came. He had to say he was not preoccupied with the NFL and then said “I have plenty of time on my hands  -all I do is work.”

Opposing non-violent protest for justice will eventually reveal SOME kind of stupidity, we just have to see how long they keep this up.

Everyone who is capable of caring right now is turning against those who just can’t care - but the issue is opening up everyone’s eyes, thanks to everyone talking about it and protesting in whatever way we do, and there will be less and less uncaring people until the few that remain will have to realize they are just the last to realize they have been duped by bad ideals.

The good ideals will come through - for all of us - and we will come out of it as a country we can All be proud of and feel welcome to share with others.

American Genocide: REAL Patriots (Protestors) versus REAL Pieces of shit (Trump Nazis and KKKops): gagablog 150

Today’s news events, Trump calling Kaepernek and other’s “Pieces of Shit” for protesting police Brutality, and the Boycott of the NFL being widely promoted today makes me want to make a statement, a spell, out of it, to turn the Real Powers back against the Powerful and end oppression and state-approved murder and genocide.

Trump is a complete asshole and KNOWS “pieces of shit” because he constantly makes them in what he says and those who listen to him. I like to give him the benefit of the doubt, that he is “trolling” and it’s intentional: He keeps promoting the WORST, most Racist and stupid ideas SO THAT we will prove how bad they are -  but unfortunately he just actually believes them.

Good WILL come out of it, even if he is actually so stupid that he believes all of these things - it’s scary to think someone that bad is actually in Power, but it is also Fitting because the Power he controls is bad, too: War, a racist system and the racist policing that goes with it - the system deserves such a dumbass to run it, to reveal how stupid it ALL is - but we don’t deserve to fear nuclear holocaust because of it - except that this is the same situation, it’s so stupid and bad to have ANY nuclear weapons if we don’t actually get rid of them we run the risk of idiots killing us all.

One of the memes I saved today was “Raise your hand i you support Enforced flag worship” with a picture of Kim Jong Un hailing Hitler or Trump or whoever - all my talk about these Big Whiny World Leaders representing Hurt Fairies is ONE way to look at it but it may be easier to just see Trump and Un as Mirror Images - you know what I mean, we are ALL Mirror Images of each other, just a matter of who is face to face in what context.

So Trump calling protestors “pieces of shit” just shows that he is a real piece of shit and shows that those who support him and those ideas are, too - people are made into pieces of shit by holding these ideas, they can just release them and be good people again.

I’ve been sitting for the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem out of protest against the racist system for as long as I can remember - since I was 8 or 10 or so. I got some shit for it, at times, but I always did it because it was the right thing to do, to deny agreement that we live up to the Ideals we espouse. In 1993 I gave speeches at school about removing the Confederate flag from the Georgia flag and the next year a couple of cops killed one of my classmates, Edward Wright, for being black and got away with it, got paid vacation, and Jesse Jackson gave a speech but nothing was DONE, no Justice was reached. So I’ve been sensitive to this even though I’m a white person who isn’t harassed by cops at all, thankfully, since my teenage years - but I know we have a racist system that is unjust and needs to be radically changed.

And I know it’s a form of Genocide - we called it that due to George W Bush’s response (as I wrote that someone just called out “George?” to the abuser of Rue McClanahan on this Pre-Golden Girls episode of the Love Boat, with her and Betty White. It also has the dad from Growing Pains, Alan Thicke) to Hurricane Katrina - but it’s ALWAYS been genocide.

Police Brutality, economic disparity, the military, the prison system, rental and banking practices, environmental pollution, poor planning that floods poor people, the school system, etc - there are endless examples of how racism corrupts the system in America and if they are seen as aspects of GENOCIDE, all of them, then we can actually address them

We can only really address the problem in Myanmar when we call it a genocide and treat it like a genocide - which means Seriously and take serious steps. We are acting like North Korea is an “immediate problem” in order to avoid actually DOING something in Myanmar - nothing is really different in North Korea, they are making missiles, just add daily shit-talking. Meanwhile thousands of people are being raped and killed and driven from their homes, exterminated, and people pretend we “don’t really know, for sure, what is going on” - but it’s obvious to anyone who CARES, who sees with the heart, that it is Genocide.

Just like it is in America  -and one reason we won’t identify it there is because we don’t want people to identify it as that, here. But both are genocide.

“She was in a harem in the Near East, I was in a harem in the Far East, we met at a harem convention in the Middle East.”

Some people say that NFL players “can’t” protest because they are rich and “not really in touch with the black community” but I think that shows how out of touch those people are, for various reasons: One, Michael Bennett is a recent example of a NFL player who was profiled and abused by Las Vegas cops and is suing them and making national headlines - so “even” the Rich and Famous have many stories of being abused for being black and have every right to speak up, for themselves, their families, and their communities. And you don’t HAVE to be black to speak up for Justice, either - even if I don’t come from a black community and only lived in predominantly black community for a few years and don’t have as much “connection” as rich NFL players do, I still see us all as a community so “your” community IS my community, too.

Seeing communities as separate is part of the problem - of course there are differences and variety is awesome but Division sucks and enforced division is the worst.

I was going to write about Immigration soon but all I really want to say is there is only ONE good, loving way to approach immigration issues: you can’t force people out of a place they have been forced to come to, for whatever reason  -it’s just wrong forcing people around. You CAN do things to improve “other” places, prevent disasters, address genocides and tyrants, etc, so that people don’t HAVE to move. Don’t try to force people back, address the forces that are already forcing them.

Actually stand for Freedom. Freedom IS freedom from force.

This is such an important issue but I need to go to work, soon, and need to wrap this up. I find it worth mentioning that some people don’t want to credit the NFL player protest from “the left”, too, because they are still playing for the teams or making big money or whatever the complaint may be. I just see it as “this is how it has to happen - we actually care enough about football, of all things, that when the players start to reflect their own true opinions, when they feel the community support from all of us who really care, this is one area where we can actually get enough focus and attention, draw enough awareness to the issue, that we can actually start to turn all this momentum around?” Now that  I write it like that it seems completely appropriate that Sports would be the Dimension that actually gets this deep issue resolved.

Can’t we send Dennis Rodman over to North Korea to play some more basketball for peace about now? I would pay to see that, lots of folks would, if that is what it takes.

Boycotts can actually make change - if the boycott of the NFL catches on they WILL change.

But the change is coming regardless, it’s more a question of who wants to be seen as a Leader, as a Patriot. Kaepernek gets that distinction and this is why I always call for the Broncos to hire him  - since we are like the Pioneers of Legal Weed and all the Justice that brings with it I wish we could be on the vanguard of this movement for Justice as well.

Steph Curry of the champion Golden State Warriors recently made news for considering not going to the White House in protest of Trump’s racism, then the whole team was considering it, then the White House rescinded the invitation, then LeBron James made international news by calling Trump a bum and criticising his decision - it just blows up until EVERYONE is against Trump and the racism and hate and fear and pettiness he represents.

King LeBron has spoken out and that will make it easier for others to speak out -  it’s like the turn of the tide, but EVERY incident, every protest, is like the turn of the tide. It’s not UP to celebrities to help us out but it is appreciated when they take these leadership roles.

This is what makes them, and us when we do it, TRUE patriots because we actually stand up for the IDEALS of Freedom not just blindly revering symbols so we can ignore the hypocrisy and suffering they cover over.

The Philippines have a really bad problem with cops murdering people, too. They do it in the name of a War on Drugs and thinking Dutuerte, their president, is some kind of Messiah. If you put the mirror between America and the Philippines you can see pretty clearly: Trump recently praised this psychopath and is showing himself to be the same kind.

It makes Kim Jong Un look clever, smart, and courageous to keep insulting Trump but always seem to be closer to the mark, calling him a deranged gangster and barking dog - I don’t approve of nuclear weapons or any weapons but his shit-talking is far more advanced than Trump’s. Trump always wants to resort to violence, even in his talk. Trump is talking about destroying Kim, now, while Kim merely wants to “tame” him - you can tell who really still cares about the relationship and who needs a spa day.
We can’t allow the Bad Guys to make enemies of us and that even includes the assholes  -we have to convince them that they are victims, too, of a bad system that allows them to victimize everyone else. It just takes discussion and understanding.

All protest, every form of speaking out, helps the cause of Justice - even people on the wrong side at least get and keep the conversation going and identify where the problems are and need for change. It’s part of the magic of communication that all of this can “catch on” at the same time with a confluence of events and something like taking a knee can take over the whole country.

That’s how magic works and Good will prevail just sometimes by circuitous routes and sometimes in a landslide or tidal wave.

It just comes from truly valuing all people and identifying those places and systems that stand in the way of this - they seem like they benefit “certain classes” of people but really it’s just some kind of Oil Company / Military / Banking vampire against The World, against EVERYONE.

Yes, they have their Human Puppets but those are victims, too - Freedom is freedom for everyone so we have to treat these assholes with love - but WE are all together on this and WE WILL WIN.

Thanks!

Fairy Tweets, Talks, and Tales: gagablog 149

Fairies are everywhere. Everything is full of fairies and part of fairies. It’s all fairy magic. This is about making those connections and building the community of fairies by returning to magical understanding.

It’s now 4:22 PM on 9-23-17. I just sent a bunch of Lady Gaga pics via message. Geiko just said they “saved a bunch of money” on TV as I wrote that phrase. I’m taking an interlude (“didn’t mean to interrupt the lizard” the sportscaster just said “sorry my mics cutting out, folks” - and I thought football in the background would provide less chances to comment… “aloha, mahalo” he said, I think.

… I’m taking an interlude from writing about Shirley Fairies, the ones who show up in that book, which was itself an interlude from talking about world events which were an interlude from talking about “Artpop” - specifically I thought I would wait to have some sort of sex dream myself to write the best thing about it  -and I believe I have even dreamed about Gaga since then, not having sex with her but dreamed about her, but no sex dreams that I noticed. Maybe I fantasize too much about sex while awake to have any left over for sleep. I think about how monks sometimes have sex with Lilith in their dreams  - and dread it??? - but I’m probably not a candidate for that if I’m not much like a monk, that way, and am kind of the opposite.

But within all these interludes  - because I plan to finish writing about Artpop and then finally listen to Joanne - is Fairy magic.

Fairies are in everything, including the interconnections between things - we are part of them, too. I have a few reasons for writing this, now: I have a workshop on Fairy magic in 8 days so it’s on my mind, I found some notes from the last one. Since I’ve been thinking even more about it recently I’ve been given some ideas that are kind of new to me, too. One I mentioned last time, I think, that we are in a symbiotic relationship with fairies but we may understand it better if we reconsider our usual placement in such conceptions of ourselves, as the “Host” of the symbiote and consider that the fairies are our hosts and we supplement and assist them more than the other way around.

So we will notice and respond to more of them, more, if we look at it this way.

But mostly the point I want to emphasise is how our language is anti-magic, denies fairies and the world more fully understood from their perspective. If we realize we are just trained to talk this way and resist it by talking another way we can discover and share more about fairies, naturally.

Because they want us too, it’s just our own resistance.

“Fairies are everywhere” is one way to get that mindset of helping each other which is why I started the gagablog this way - but it really starts shortly.
I personally know I could write real fairy tales if I let myself - I’m holding myself back, now, by lingering around at the edge of this world to tell others, the whole bodhicitta concept, and laziness (“There’s a big gulf between Alabama and the rest of the conference”... “this one’s an A-plus right now.”) but the truth is you can go on into the Fairy World and come back, any time - though some times and places and ways of being are more conducive than others to the “trip.” We have plenty of stories about this.

Fairy Tales are our “best” (most solid? Is that “best”?) conceptions of fairies but there are plenty of other forms and ways we communicate with fairies and learn about them. I like to notice the magic in technology, which naturally “reads” as fairies when you have this perspective that Fairies are Everywhere.

I called this “Fairy tweets, Talks, and Tales” to get attention - it’s the title of my workshop. “Fairies usually tweet through birds” is one of my opening “jokes” and it’s true, we very frequently get fairy messages from birds, animals, wind, trees, flowers, lightning, storms, shooting stars, sunshine, clouds, rainbows, and every other part of nature. But I also want people to think of technology as a fairy realm. We often think of technology as “anti-nature” or “superhuman” in a way, like something that makes us “human, apart from nature” and therefore is more “alien” to nature, “not natural.” We think about how Kids These Days play video games instead of going outside, or Kids In The Future will play video games instead of going to war. Some video games, now, like Pokemon Go!, and more in the future, will defy this idea and “blend” nature and technology - but really they are only separate in our heads.

Technology is not “unnatural” it’s just another aspect of nature - even if we think of it as “Alien” we should remember that Aliens are also Natural, just from different “kinds” of nature - but it’s all, actually, nature, it’s all Fairies - full of fairies and part of fairies.

I mentioned in the gagablog before, and saw it in my notes, a question my daughter asked me: “what were some things you thought when you were younger that seem silly now?” and I said that teachers “lived” at the school - or folded up into the filing cabinat at night. She said she thought this, too, something like it - and I think from the fairy perspective there is something “true” about this. She mentioned that she thought traffic lights were operated by elves inside of them.

Kids are more naturally noticing fairy things because their thinking, their language, has not been trained into the anti-magic thinking of our “common sense” adult world. Many “adults,” of course, still retain magic, fairy connection, through their creativity - and also are childlike, young-at-heart, Ozzite. Other “adults” who have “mastered” the adulting of this world, reached positions of prominence like President of the United States - but act like the Worst of kids, fighting and whining and name-calling and acting out, throwing temper tantrums.

Having the fairy connection, creativity, allows people, of any “age”, to find good things and humor in bad things, find new ways out of bad things. I feel confident, personally, in associating “my own” creativity with the fairy world - I have always felt ideas “sent to me” or that I merely have to be open to story ideas or lyrics or drawings and allow them, the fairies, the art, to express themselves through me. Of course I have my own ideas but I’m always open to this world and think of it as purely full of fairies, spirits - THE spirit, which is why I associate Art so much with the Divine, why I’ve always seen Lady Gaga as the Goddess for how much creativity she channels to us and opens us up to channel by example and by sharing, by Art.

I feel this idea is confirmed by other creative people, too. I heard the author of “Eat, Pray, Love” on the radio years ago talking about how she always thought of her writing as being inspired and given to her by the fairies, even one in particular, or per project, I don’t recall - but she said she did not have the name for the book and realized she was asking people about “her” ideas and conflicted what to call it then she reminded herself - “Oh wait, I respect and rely on the fairies to help me write, let me just ask what they want the name to be” and she went to sleep that night and dreamed or woke up with the name for her book, which did really well.

Then I was reminded to mention this, again, by a poet on the radio just last week. She said she saw the poems as living beings who would change and tell her what they really wanted to be  - because she rewrote them a lot but knew that their final form was part of them coming fully to life.

I feel like talking about everything in a fairy way makes it easy to see these connections in art but it also helps everything.

I feel like everyone can relate to thinking something then seeing something on TV or hearing it on the radio or some random way, something that fits the theme of their thought. To me this always suggested a spirit letting us know it is there, this connection between things makes me think of a fairy saying hello. The Big World News events also seem like fairies saying “hello”, or “HELP!” - but spirits in conflict or desperation behind the Events of the Day are a way of addressing them without getting caught up in their awfulness.

We have to do all we can do to help The World - this isn’t a way of being aloof about issues. It’s a way of considering everything as a network, that we are connected, in magical ways, to things we can’t possibly hope to influence - in normal ways. But we can with magic and we can work natural magic by recognizing the fairy connections between everything.

There is a good, creative solution for everything. The constant barrier to these solutions is the idea “well, that would never work” - a lack of imagination. Increasing imagination, helping creative people be more creative, helping more people become creative and growing a cultural and worldwide appreciation for creativity WILL save the world.

Allowing people to consider the difficult, tragic parts of life, as well as the good ones, from the perspective that “everything is fairies” allows us to engage with everything instead of getting overwhelmed and wanting to ignore it - we know that even the Bad Things are expressions of hurt or angry fairies and we can find (“Has a hole and then stays on his feet and explodes!” - football announcer) ways to break through the badness and reconnect.

Creativity, inspiration, wonder, contemplation, prayer, imagination, dreams  - all of these are inward ways of reconnecting with the fairy world. But it’s also all around us, in nature, in technology - where we “least expect it” - and even more the less we expect it, or rather, more the more we expect it but in the most surprising ways. People manifest fairies all the time, accidentally and then for whatever reason, getting into it, I suppose, whatever they call it, some people seem more fairy-like.

While we have traditions of fairy tales we are more aware of due to cultural depictions - and may be unaware of a lot about them from the Disney versions we have - there are fairy tales from all over the world. With no disrespect to “either”, all myths can be seen as fairy tales. But instead of focusing on the fairy tales we know and a select, restrictive understanding of fairies we can look for the fairies in other cultures, stories, and in everyday experiences and each other.

I was considering what “difference” there is between religious myths and fairy tales and one I think applies to many things considered to be “fairy tales” - instead of myths (trying to tease out the possibly artificial distinction / bridge the apparent divide) - is that fairy tales don’t have Gods and Goddesses in them, as such - the Gods and Goddesses they have appear as Other Creatures, through other creatures, and while it may never be explained who they “really” are, most likely if it is explained they are depicted as a Pure Fairy.

I feel like it is simply a matter of recognizing the Pure Fairy in everyone, in everything, beneath the exteriors and attitudes and hurts and conflicts and aggressions, to the gentler and blissful expressions instead.

I always feel like I fall in love with girls who have this Fairy quality, for whatever reason, so much that it seems gloriously obvious. It always inspires me to make more art - one reason I love Gaga so much and feel bad I’ve been “away” from her so long (“you’ve got to show Juan that I’m not his lucky charm!” Sister Patrille just said - earlier on Gidget her dad said “The woman is clairvoyant!” and the woman replied “The woman is a woman” - it’s the Feminine, too, whatever that is, in respect to being more fairy-like, again something we all have / are part of and we and the whole world benefit from us discovering more of it.)

I’m ready to end this interlude and get back to really writing this about Gaga, actually trying to reconnect with her, other little monsters, and our art - and back to my own art. I will have to write these faster and really seeking that goal but I know I can do it - after all this “breakdown” for months I feel like I am at some kind of foundation to actually build something beautiful again.

Plus I feel like it’s okay to be in love again, like I really am In Love with someone who could, can still somehow be In Love with me - and that, the shared world, is the best and most immediate magic, the Open Path to fairyland. Otherwise it’s everywhere, twisting through everything, and sometimes just needs a new way to look at things.

I was going to mention how this resembles Engaged Buddhism, applying non-attachment to staying engaged with the world and it’s problems - which I learned a little bit about in college but thought it sounded presumptuous that there was too much concern for buddhism being actually detached from the world and ignoring the problems “outside” the community. But the situation in Myanmar, the genocide perpetrated by buddhists, shows how evil can infect any belief that gets twisted by this world instead of twisting this world into the fairy world, the true goal of all belief.

We’re all different people and respond to all sorts of beliefs but the Best Beliefs are the ones that restore us to the natural harmonious world of nature and magic, the Fairy World - is what I call it but call it Heaven on Earth or Nirvana or whatever you like that means the best thing possible - but not “later” or conditionally, available to all, always, entreating us to rejoin it, express it, share it with others.

I like pointing out how we can notice magic everywhere, in media, social media, art and nature. I’m so grateful and pleased to have new friends from work to interact with and feel connection and acceptance with, especially since I didn’t have that for the last decade at work. It reminds me how much natural magic exists between people, even people who don’t think about things in magical terms (“the way I do”, I should say - everything IS magic and all thinking is magical thinking, of one kind or another, whether people recognize it or not - just becomes more magical if you recognize it.)

There was the idea, an internet rumor from old false prophecy, that the world would end today - I looked it up on wikipedia and it didn’t deserve it’s own blog edition - but it did affect the world, even made the news that people in earthquake and hurricane disasters recently were taking it “more seriously” and spreading the rumor - it was the silliest notion about a planet four times the size of earth crashing into us. But I like to see the magical truth in everything, even outright lies like this, because there are connections between Everything - and there is a major conjunction of planets today (possibly why they chose today, who cares?) But I do like to think of the world changing in such a major way - for good  -that it IS the end of the world as we know it and we will finally ALL feel fine (“Grandma we finally won!” the girl on the Great Call commercial said as I wrote this.)

The way people can enter a mass hysteria to expect something bad is understandable, especially during disasters - but think about what that says about how “disastrous” our “ordinary” lives are that we can and often do conceptualize all sorts of Apocalyptic Wasteland - but why is it so hard for us to imagine, why do we have so few examples, of an Apocalyptic Wonderland?

When are we going to have a mass hysteria that everything is about to turn Incredibly Fantastic? What kinds of occurrences need to transpire to get the world into that kind of mood? Those are the things I want to help make happen.

The last thing I want to say is that “we” make the world as magical as we allow ourselves - I’ve been “reducing” my focus to all these events, etc, instead of crafting the world, magically, with stories. I’m the only one holding myself back in this way - I’m the only one holding the whole world back in THIS particular way. I want to stop putting these off until they become crazy long but also put them aside so I am doing my other writing, my fairy tales, first - and finally write my nonfiction book about Oz-Gaga magic, too. But for now I want to do some small, fun projects that are easy to complete - I’m also so grateful from my friend I met at work who is drawing a comic I wrote, i can’t express all the benefit I feel around it, I’m so excited and want to make more myself and with him, too, if he wants.

There’s so much I want to do and it becomes so easy if I just remember the magic on the “other side” calling me to do it, the wonderful transformations that occur from going for it, and forgetting the excuses and fears from “this side” that get in the way. The same way I tell the world “Just Try it!” when they say Peace and Love can never be done, won’t rule the world - let it happen in your own life helps you believe in it for the world and the “separate worlds” magically unite, almost on their own - and we realize it’s just some bad beliefs, ideas, and misconceptions we hold that have ever kept us all apart, all along.

We have so many fairies, in each other, ourselves, to learn from and connect with - I (you) just have to resist the tendencies of my language to control conversations or convince others of “my view” and be open to the possibility of Our View emerging as a brand new, immediate window, doorway to Fairyland. We don’t have to always fall in love with each other when we make these fairy connections but we could at least get way more into magic through them.

And in the same way the “disputes” between countries can be seen, without taking sides, with compassion for both, as opportunities to find new ways to solve problems, with the greater the problem requiring the more creative solution. It’s not a “new” idea but still requires more imagination to say “Why not get rid of ALL nuclear weapons and nuclear power, too?”  - and that would solve the Nuclear War problem and many other problems along the way.

Magic is so interconnected - fairies are everywhere and thrive on connections, communication  - it will naturally be the solution to many different problems all at once (“Often in the same location, on the same day” the Kaiser Permanente lady said) You look for the magical solution to one thing, the most brave and creative path you can take, and find it will solve completely different and previously “unrelated” problems as well - because it reveals the connections that make everything relative.

Love is the best foundation for everything and what grows out of love will crumble and replace the things built on hate. Knowing this will happen and letting it happen in ourselves is the best way to suggest it to others (Morticia Addams suggested the word “suggest” to me by saying “What a wonderful suggestion.”) and it catches on between us until everyone feels their inclusion and part of it and we can shed our hurt, hurtful, hurting shells that hurt people.
